Material Commons (MTCM) is a generic name for projects originating in Japan that provide Material Commons Licenses.
MTCM is a new copyright rule for authors of work (material) to support the creation of copyrighted work. It is a tool for the author to make a statement that "If you observe this condition, you can use my material freely."
MTCM cannot be used for any material modification in the RPG Maker series because it is necessary to adhere to the RPG MAKER EULA as a major premise. We recommend using of TKCM.
MTCM recommends the effects of material distribution based on the following element.
"MTCM certificate" is a simple explanation that allows you to quickly understand the main contents of the license. By referring to the description on this site for the details of the contents, the material creator does not need to describe redundant terms and conditions.
- By viewing the "MTCM Certificate" by the material user, it becomes easier to use the material without worrying about difficulties.
It allows you to understand the main contents of the license concisely and prevents misuse of the license.
By using MTCM, the material creator can freely distribute the material while retaining the copyright, and the material user can modify and redistribute it within the license conditions.
The display of these marks are a sign that the material is marked with MTCM.
Materials can be establishment liberty licensed on their own. However, it is a difficult task to determine the conditions clearly and in detail by yourself. It is the role of MTCM to help the material creator in simplifying.
By defining such a template, we are trying to make the sharing of material smoothly.

Under the MTCM-License
The material is available under MTCM license.
Display credit
It is necessary to display the credit of the material creator.
Commercial purposes
Available for commercial purposes.
But do not sell the material itself.
Modification
Allow / prohibit modification of the Source material.
Redistribution
Allow/prohibit redistribution of original materials and modified materials. For redistribution, it is necessary to publish on the same MTCM as the source material. As a general condition of MTCM, distribution of works which used materials is not redistribution.
By combining these conditions and considering convenience, MTCM has been reduced to three types.
Material creators will consider how they want to distribute their material and choose the right combination of licenses as needed.
